Mycelium wool panels

The wool-myceliuu panels have been developed by Gabriela Farias, lab manager at spore.nl in 2025. Every year, over 1 million kg of Dutch wool goes to waste, often burned or discarded due to a lack of high-value applications. By integrating wool into mycelium-based composites, we not only give this material new life but also enhance the strength of the biocomposite. The mycelium grows on 100% biobased hemp or flax.

With their unique organic texture, these panels add warmth and functionality to any interior space.

• Size: 56 x 36 cm

• Thickness: 5 cm

• Sound Absorption: Good, between 0,6 and 0,8 for frequencies above 500 Hz

• Mounting: Built-in wooden backing allows for easy installation on walls or ceilings

  These panels were showcased at the ROOTS exhibition in Milan 2025, curated by Simone van Es, featuring innovative sustainable design pieces.

  Each panel is grown to order, with a production time of approximately 4–6 weeks.
